NITs are the premier institutes in the country for Engineering.To find out the score you require first of all fix the branch you want to study and the NIT you prefer.After that go the Joint seat allocation portal and look for opening and closing ranks for previous years.You would get a rough idea of how much you need to score.I would say anything above 150 in Mains would land you what you are looking for.

to get an admission in nit you should get atleast 75% in the 12th board conducted by the perspective board exam and as you belongs to sc category you have the reservation there is a chance to score easily if you score above 150 you will be in a safe side and there is no difficulty for you and by those marks you can be placed in a top ranked college
