After 10th standard :-

• If you have interest in science and want to further take engineering or medical then you can choose science in 11th and 12th standard with Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry as compulsory subjects if you want to do engineering or Physics, Chemistry and Biology as compulsory subjects if you want to do medical.
• Now there are many branches in both engineering and medical. For example computer science engineering, civil engineering, etc. Branches in medical are MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery),  BDS (Bachelor of Dental Surgery) and there are many more. So choose the course before so that you can prepare for entrance exam conducted to take admission in engineering or medical. 
• If you have interest in business, finance related things then you can choose commerce after which you can go for CA (Chattered Accountant) or CS (Company Secretary) or B. Com (Bachelor of Commerce), etc. 
• If you have interest in history, geography, psychology and other arts related field then you can choose arts after which you can go for B. A (Bachelor of Arts), etc.
