So are saying that your mains score is 95.and the 12th 65%. Then you don't get a chance to be in nit. As your 12th percentage less than required. 75% is the required one to be qualify for nits. But you can other state level examinations and along with that there are many good private universities and you are eligible to write the entrances exams of them so apply to them.

You won't get admission in IITS /NITs if you have board score less than 75% (general Category)  and less than 65% (SC/ST).                But you can apply for other government and private engineering institute. If you are from Punjab than you can apply for UIET Chandigarh, Thapar University, Pataila, GNDU, GNDEC, PTU etc.  You can also give state level engineering entrance exams.
