Hello,

Yes, you can appear for the UPSC exam in 2026. Here's why:

  1. Age Limit :

    • General category: 21-32 years.
    • OBC category: Relaxation of 3 years, making it 21-35 years.
    • In 2026, you will be 35 years old (as of 1st January 2026), eligible under OBC.
  2. Attempt Limit :

    • OBC candidates get 9 attempts.
    • Ensure you haven't exhausted these.
  3. Other Criteria :

    • You must hold a bachelor's degree and meet other eligibility norms.

Hope it helps !

For the UPSC Civil Services Examination 2026, the age limit for candidates belonging to the OBC category is 21 to 35 years. This means your date of birth should fall between August 2, 1991 and August 1, 1995 to be eligible for the exam. Therefore unfortunately you have to attempt UPSC 2025 and not UPSC 2026.

Hello aspirant,

To be eligible for UPSC a candidate must be more than 21 years old and not more than 35 years old as on 1st august of exam year, if you are form OBC Category.

Since you will be some month more old than 35 years on 1st August 2026, you are unfortunately ineligible for UPSC 2026.

Thank you

For OBC candidates, the maximum age limit to appear for the UPSC exam is 35 years as of August 1 of the exam year. Since your date of birth is January 1, 1991, you will be 35 years old on January 1, 2026 and still eligible to apply for the 2026 UPSC exam.
