As of now, there is no functional AIIMS Institute being run in Tamil Nadu but, our Prime Minsiter has already laid the foundation stone of one of the AIIMS to be built at Madurai. Soon the construction would be full fledged and in the coming years, we would see yet another AIIMS.

As of now, there is no AIIMS college in the state of Tamil Nadu though new AIIMS will come in Tamil Nadu and Telangana soon. Cabinet has approved and its construction time frame is estimated to be 45 months though there will be no admission for mbbs for the year 2019 in AIIMS Tamil Nadu.

As of March 2019, 12 more AIIMS are under development and AIIMS in tamil nadu is in 5th phase of construction.
