It would be better if you know the structural formula for all of them.Dont need to mug up but you should know their composition and how they are derived.

Also check previous question paper to get the idea which questions related to amino acids come in exam.

For NEET preparation you do not need to study all the symbols and structures of amino acids.

Just remember the examples of aromatic, hydrophobic, polar amino acids etc.

Remember the basic structure of amino acids and that of alanine .

But yes for AIIMS and JIPMER , the structures should be memorized as questions come either in Chemistry or Biology.
