Almost all the States have their respective Entrance examinations for admission to Engineering Colleges of their States along with JEE Mains. For example, Karnataka has KCET, AP has EAMCET, Gujarat has GUJCET, so on and so forth. Having said that there are 2 States which do not conduct admission to their State run Government Colleges and Private Colleges just based on 12th marks and the merit list prepared on the basis of these marks. They are Anna University's TNEA and Rajasthan's REAP. These counselling procedures are conducted on the base od marks secured in 12th. A separate merit list is prepared for admission and these do not need any entrance examinations.
