Hi

First of all,  there's no minimum % barrier in 12th to be eligible for jee main.

For your reference,

Jee main eligibility criteria is given below-

--------) Qualification required :- to be eligible  for JEE mains you need 10+2/equivalent qualification.

Course

Required Criteria based on Class 12th  or equivalent

B.E/B.Tech

Passed qualifying examination with Physics and   Mathematics as compulsory subjects

along with any one of :-

----)Chemistry

B.Tech/B.Arch Admissions OPEN

Apply to Amrita University B.Tech 2026

-----)Biotechnology

-----)Biology

----) Technical Vocational subject.

B.Arch

Passed qualifying examination with

-----)Mathematics,

-----)Physics,

------) Chemistry

B.Planning

Passed qualifying examination with Mathematics

--------) Passing year :- one is eligible for JEE main examination for consecutive three years starting from the year of appearing for 12th /equivalent examination i. e to be eligible  for   JEE mains 2022   you should be either appearing for 12th board exam or equivalent  in   2022 or should have passed it in 2021 or 2020

--------) There is no age limit to be eligible

-   - ------) there is no minimum percentage requirement to be eligible for JEE Main.

But yes,

To be eligible for NITs, IIITs, CFTIs one needs at least 75% marks in class 12th if belongs to General or OBC category  or at least 65% marks in class 12th if belongs to Sc or St category.

For this year i. e 2021 this minimum percentage requirement of 75% - 65 % has been lifted off   .

††† Important thing to note down is that this 75% barrier was removed for 2021 only , it doesn't mean that in next year, 2021 passed students won't have 75 % barrier just because they had passed in 2021.

In 2022, this 75-65 % criteria for       NITs, IIITs, CFTIs will be there( if removed due to conditions like pandemic then nta will notify about it)    .

So, if you have less than 75% then you can appear for improvement examination so that you become eligible for NITs etc.
