Hello aspirant,

I hope you are doing well and good.

sucrose are soluble in water but cyclohexane or benzene (simple six membered ring compounds) are insoluble in water. ... Thus, sucrose undergo extensive H-bonding with water. Hence, these are soluble in water. But cyclohexane and benzene do not contain −OH groups.

Goodluck!

Hi

Why sucrose gets dissolved in water?

In sucrose there is  hydroxyl group which is Polar in nature and thus forms hydrogen bonding with water and so gets dissolved in it

Why sucrose doesn't dissolve in Benzene?

Benzene is a hydrocarbon, it contains only Carbon and hydrogen and doesn't have any OH group or hydroxyl group and thus sucrose is not able to go hydrogen bonding with Benzene resulting which, it doesn't dissolve.

Thus, sucrose is insoluble in Benzene

Thankyou
