Hey Pranav
Yes it will definitely effected .
Because this year you have two chance and highest of the two marks will be considered for the final ranking.
So let's take example .
Your rank in January exam is 4500
Now in April exam other candidates who are above you score same but candidates behind you score more than the January exam .
So in this case your rank fall down and those students who score more than you will secure better rank .
But second case may be possible if students above you score less than you .
So in this your rank will be better.

Hello pranav

I would like to tell you that it isn't compulsory to give both mains exam.It totally depends on you.If you don't give april exam,you january rank will be final rank.But this year,I hope there won't exactly be a ranking system,rather a percentile system.Let's see what NTA reveals.Hope this helps you.
