NIT Surathkal has one of the safest campus in India, with extremely excellent peer culture and environment. As far as Mechanical Engineering is concerned not more than 20-25 % of the Batch are female students. However in the last 5 years increasing number of girls are showing interest in Core branches like Mechanical or Metallugical Engineering and you will surely find good camarederie. As far as Infrastructure, Faculty, Research Facilities or Placements are concerned,you shouldnt doubt NIT Surathkal's capabilities. Companies like Toyota, Tata Motors, TVS, ITC, Unilever, Microsoft, Mercedes Benz are regular recruiters from NIT Karnataka Mechanical.
