Yes taking admission in government college is beneficial in many ways such as

Economical
Campus is generally big
Teacher are experienced

Actually packages depends upon what is your score card in the college and what knowledge you pursue during your course and other factors . Generally 3-6 lacks average package.

Bright students get more than 10 lacks of package.

You can easily find out good government college of UP from the website
