The Tamil Nadu Open University (TNOU) was established by an Act (Act No. 27) of the Legislative Assembly of the Government of Tamil Nadu in 2002. And this is academics provides there is  acceptable.

Tamil Nadu Open University is the first open university of Tamil Nadu. The same aims to provide benefit to the people who are not able to afford higher education. The courses offered by the University are recognized by University Grants Commission [UGC], National Council for Teacher Education [NCTE], RCI and DEB etc. That means it's mark sheet is eligible.
