At MNNIT Allahabad, their is whole seperate physics department having highly qualified professors to train applicants from B.Tech to PhD scholars 

Regarding with the engineering curriculum

You'll study engineering physics throughout your first year. Engineering physics is also deeper and a magnified view of what physics you'll study at JEE level. 

The curriculum has particular wide domain including Electrostats, Electro-magnetic induction, EM Waves, Optics, Solid State, Radiography, KTG etc.

I'd personaly believe eng. physics is more for the students who are interested in research work than those who want to opt for engineering job.
