Hi aspirant,

Textile engineering has a promising future in India .

  1. India's textile industry is one of the largest in the world , with the country ranking second in cotton production and first in jute .
  2. Graduates of textile engineering have a wide range of career options , including textile manufacturing, design and development, quality control, technical sales, research and development, and corporate management .
  3. They can work for leading textile firms or apply for government jobs with organizations such as the Handicrafts & Handlooms Exports Corporation of India and the National Handloom Development Corporation .
  4. The Indian textile market is expected to expand considerably in the next few years , driven by a large and increasing population, rising disposable incomes, and government attempts to promote domestic manufacture.

Yes, textile engineering has a good scope in India, particularly with the industry's strong growth and the increasing demand for innovative and sustainable textile products. The textile industry in India is a significant employment generator and a major exporter.

But I would still suggest to pursue Btech in tech related fields like CSE, IT, ECE since the demand will keep on surging.

Yes, Textile Engineering does have scope in India, but it depends on your career goals, skills, and how you plan to utilize the degree. It’s a niche field, but India is one of the largest textile producers in the world — so there are both traditional and emerging opportunities.

Textile Engineering involves:

Fabric production and processing

Yarn and fiber technology

Dyeing, finishing, and printing

Textile machinery

Hello aspirant,

The study of numerous concepts from scientific and technical approaches used for the processing and production of diverse textile fabrics, fibers, and yarns is known as textile engineering or textile technology.  It also entails studying chemical and physical concepts that are useful for studying and analyzing polymers.
The best textile facilities and firms need skilled textile engineers.  The textile sector will continue to expand at the same rate as the fashion industry.
