Dear Aspirant, avoiding field work deletes the option of civil branch. CSE,IT,ECE,EE are the most preferred branches for girls. If you have keen interest in coding and passion for computer you can opt of CSE,IT you will get an office job in this field. Coming to ECE,EE if you have interest in circuit design,PCB manufacturing and coding you can even go for these core branches as well. Mechanical limits the option to autocad coding and draftsman type jobs which are though office jobs but not mostly preferred by girls. So choose branch accordingly taking in point where your interest lies.

In the terms of less field work, best engineering branches for girls are CSE/Info Science/ECE/EEE from a general point of view. Today, these are the branches with the best scope.

Big Data, Artificial Intelligence, Robotics, Data mining, etc. are the topics to discuss and know. Most of the people in circuit branches eventually end up in software. These companies give work from home options on a few occasions and have high scope in the future. Many start-ups require software engineers too. So do software security companies. The gender ratio in these branches is pretty good compared to branches like Civil and Mechanical. Biotechnology engineering is a branch dominated by women presently, but unless you have vital interests and intend to do MS in this, I would advise against it. In my opinion, for a woman, it's good to go with the above options of circuit/software branches.
