This year percentile is being provided by the authorities of JEE Main.
Percentile means that if there are 100 people sitting for an exam and your percentile is 90 this would actually mean that you have scored more or same than 90 other people sitting in that exam. So the percentile changes as the number of students change.
The following formula is being used to calculate the probable rank from the percentile that one provides -
JEE Main 2019 rank (probable) = (100- NTA percentile score ) X 874469 /100.
