Though carbon can reduce ores of many metals, it is not generally used in their extractions justify

Hey!

Carbon is used in the extraction of many metals. But the only condition required is that the reactivity of those metals should be less than carbon. So that the carbon can displace the metal in the compound, and remove oxygen from the oxide.

But some metals like Aluminum are more reactive than carbon, thus carbon is not used in their extraction.
