NMMS - National Means cum Merit Scholarship exam is sponsored by the Central Government and is conducted by the local educational authority.

Eligibility:

• The annual income of the person's family should be lesser than 1,50,000 per annum.
• The person should be from class IX and receives the scholarship till XII.

Examination pattern consists of

1. MAT(Mental Ability Test)
2. SAT(Scholastic Aptitude Test)

Each section consists of 90 questions to be answered in 90 minutes each.

To quality for the scholarship one has to qualify both the test with a minimum of 40% except for pré-réservation(32%)

Also one should have passed the Class VIII examination with a minimum percentage of 55% during selection for the award. Exception of 5% is given to SC/ST.
