An IC Engine is a heat engine in which the combustion of a fuel occurs witg an oxidizer in a combustion chamber. Currently there are two main kinds of Internal Combustion Engines in production

1. The Spark Ignition Gasoline Engine

2. Compression Ignition Diesel Engine

Most of these four stroke cycle engines, meaning four piston strokes are needed to complete a cycle.

They find application and use in Automotive, Railways, Marines, Aircraft and Power Plants in form of Gas turbines, Diesel and Gas Engines.
