VIT has category-wise cutoffs for a specific branch. There are 5 categories. The fees increases with category. For instance, the fee for category 4 will be more than category 2. Therefore, you can get CSE at a higher rank but the fee will be more.

Category wise cutoff for CSE branch:

Category 1- 950

Category 2- 3500

Category 3- 19000

Category 4- 22000

Category 5- 25500

Category wise cutoff for CSE (with specialisation branches like AI, Data Science, etc ) branch:

Category 1- 2800

Category 2- 9000

Category 3- 23000

Category 4- 27000

Category 5- 31000

As you can see, you can get CSE branch at your rank with some specialisation branch but the fees will be higher.

Category 1 - 1.9 Lakh

Category 2 - 3 Lakh

Category 3 - 4 Lakh

Category 4 - 4.5Lakh

It is quite hard to predict the exact situation as it depends on the number of students willing to take admission in the college, the preferences of the students and the seat matrix.

CSE is one of the most competitive branches and hence it is quite difficult to get into CSE in VIT Vellore.

Vellore, being the oldest VIT, is also highly competitive.

Looking at the previous year trends we can say that it is quite difficult for you to get CSE in Vellore campus.

The seats in VIT Vellore end at around 35 K so you have a small chance of getting core branches like Biotechnology.

You have a decent chance of getting CSE in VIT AP in category 2/3 and a good chance of getting VIT Bhopal in category 1.
