Career options can be at ISRO, Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre (VSSC), and even the National Physical Laboratory. Many go for further studies too. Lots also take up teaching. I dont understand in what terms someone told you about a huge demand. However many students also take up jobs that are in IT sector as well as banking etc. Check here for some details of IIT Bombay
