Hello Aspirants, actually KVPY is an exam conducted by IISc banglore to inspires students for taking admissions to basic science courses and given an edge to the research and development in india. So after clearing KVPY exam students who are enrolled in an undergraduate course in Basic Sciences, that is,B.Sc./B.S./B.Stat./B.Math./Int. M.Sc./Int. M.S. in Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, Statistics, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Cell Biology, Ecology, Molecular Biology, Botany, Zoology, Physiology, Biotechnology, Neurosciences, Bioinformatics, Marine Biology, Geology, Human Biology, Genetics, Biomedical Sciences, Applied Physics, Geophysics, Materials Science or Environmental Science are eligible for KVPY fellowship of Rs.5000/month upto 3year and 7000/months for next 2 years of M.Sc with contingency grant of Rs.28000/-.
There are varities of books available for preparation of KVPY but it depends upon subject you chosen like PCM/PCB. According to survey of many students books for KVPY preparation are as same as JEE Mains/Advanced or NEET preparation.

If you qualify KVPY exam, you will receive a scholarship from 1st year of the ongoing graduation. the candidates receive a monthly scholarship of 5000 rupees from 1st year to 3rd year of B.S./B. Stat/B.SC/B. Math/Integrated M.SC/M.S. and an yearly grant of 20,000 rupees contingently, provided that if you pursue your undergraduate courses in the following subjects such as Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, Cell Biology, Ecology, Molecular Biology, Botany, Zoology, Physiology, Biotechnology, Neurosciences, Bioinformatics, Marine Biology, Geology, Human Biology, Genetics, Biomedical Sciences, Applied Physics, Geophysics, Materials Science, Environmental Science, Statistics, Biochemistry and Microbiology.

Use previous years question papers and solve it. The books are NCERT textbooks, Problems in physical chemistry by Avasthi, Concise inorganic chemistry by JD Lee and also VK Jaiswal, Organic Chemistry by Pandey and also MS Chauhan,
