It depends on your interersts and where you would want to see yourself in the future.

If you wish to see yourself as a teacher/lecturer, you may go for that. For top universities you will have to finish a Phd. You may also comduct research whilst teaching.

Otherwise you may work at firms just for reaserch. You also have options in management if you do an MBA.
