Hi Lavanya,   According to the new changed CAT 2020 exam pattern, the test will now be held in three slots instead of two slots. The timing of the three sessions of CAT 2020 are expressed as morning session (8:30 AM – 10:30 AM), afternoon session (12:30 PM – 2:30 PM) and evening session (4:30 PM – 6:30 PM), on November 29, 2020. According to the new change in CAT paper pattern 2020, candidates will be allotted exactly 40 minutes for answering questions in each section and they will not be permitted to switch from one section to another while answering questions in a section. Previously the CAT exam was of three hours and candidates were allotted 60 minutes to answer each section.

First of all thanks a lot Nikitha for listing out all the points answering my question and spending time into this. Now I am having a doubt as you say that the number of question in this current pattern will be same as the old patten .Will it be possible to answer question within this time constrain?Or the number of questions are likely to get lessen?

Lavanya YES , Lavanya I understand your concern. Though it is difficult to predict what is the total number of questions which will be asked in the CAT 2020 exam pattern since the duration of the entrance test has been reduced. It is important that you focus on the preparation for the exam rather than on the number of questions and duration. As of now there is no information whether the no. of questions will be reduced. I suggest you practice everyday and let your efforts come to fruition.
You can try some mock exams to be better prepared for the CAT 2020.
