There is no specific answer to this question .The rank to get a desirable branch of your choice in counseling in a particular college depends from college to college. The marks you will need to get a good rank depends on the difficulty of the paper .This year its estimated that student securing about 180 marks in JEE mains will have a rank in 5000-6000.

Here is the full list of Marks VS Ranks :

Marks ---Ranks

>325 --<100

>280--<200

>260---<500

>210---<1,000

>180---<5,000

>165---<10,000

>94----<20,000

>80---<2,80,000

By cut-off, I assume you're asking about the minimum rank required to get admission. This minimum rank cannot be predicted to an exact number but only an approximate number as it keeps changing every year.

As per last year's statistics, the minimum rank required to get admission into SRM-Main Campus for CSE under merit Category-A(tuition fee of INR 1.96Lakhs/annum) is around 6000.

The minimum rank required to get admission into SRM-Main Campus for CSE under merit Category-B(tuition fee of INR 2.5Lakhs/annum) is around 12000.

Please note that I mentioned 'SRM-Main Campus'. The Main Campus requires the best ranking, so the other campuses require only a lower score.

THESE CUT-OFF STATISTICS ARE BASED ON LAST YEAR'S NUMBERS. I HOLD NO RESPONSIBILITIES IF THE NUMBERS ARE WRONG.

Hello Peechara,

There's no such minimum marks criteria in most of the exams there are many factor that affect your final rank in any enterence exam such as number of students appearing for the exam, difficulty level of the paper, last year rank stats, maximum marks scored in the given exam so the minimum marks criteria is different every year for every other exam but is one should really want to be on the safe side so he/she should to get the maximum marks possible for example if you get 150+ in JEE main you may or may not get your desired branch in counselling in the college of his choice but if he/she is able to get 250+ marks he will surely get his desired branch in some good college, same formula is applicable for other exams as well.

All The Best!!
