I want to give you a clear vision idea of petroleum engineering job scenario in india, there is very less company which hires petroleum engineer since this sector is very limited in some of the govt and core sector and most of the wrok is field oriented which can be done by mechanical or auto mobile engineer, in field engineering work is quite long hours compare to salary structure, you may apply for companies like Focus energy, JTI, GTC oil field services, Vishal, L&T, etc, however to a better career I suggest you to go for m.tech or mba, m.tech option is good if you get into any iits unless it will be better to join mba, you may get to work as a manager or may work in sales sector in oil sector industry.
