UK degrees are normally shorter than in other countries: three-year UG and a one-year Masters.The academic sessions in the UK universities usually begin in the months of September and October. The application procedure starts in October of the previous year. For example, if a student who wants to join a course in 2017, he or she needs to apply in October 2016. The application deadline is usually March. It could be extended till June end for international students.

Students can either directly apply to their university of choice or apply through the local office of the university in their countries. For undergraduate studies, you can apply online or through the Universities and Colleges Admissions System (UCAS) while for postgraduate studies you can apply online.

A complete application for admission to a university includes:
CV
Academic and professional transcripts
Two to three academic references
A Statement of Purpose or Research proposal.
Some universities also accept GRE and GMAT scores.
IELTS score.
