You should keep a list of all the Basic items required before joining College. Of course items like Mattress, Buckets, Necessary Equipments, Table Fan, Electric Kettle, Etc can be purchased from Local stores. Keep a good stock of Clothes, Towel, Medicines (Though always can be purchased as and when needed), Few Notebooks, Good Smartphone with Internet Connection (College Wifi cant be trusted) and a lot more necessary items. Youll get this list probably Online over Google or your College Fresher Facebook Pages.

The following list should be enough for you :-

1. All stationaries stuffs like pen,pencil,eraser,sharpener,stepplar (with extra pin), gum, scissors, bookmarks, geometry box, scale,
2. Have a LAN cable if ye hostel provides internet or do have a proper internet connection. Whatever Couse you study, good internet connection is a must these days.
3. Have your own blanket, towel, ample of clothes, etc.
4. In case you have to wash your room yourself then have a wiper and a broom. Bucket and mug would be needed too.

But you know what, these are not essential at all.

When you are living in a hostel then the most important thing is to have a good relationship with every one. Try to be friendly and helpful with others. A lso carry first aid kit and essential medicines. Hope this helps!
