First of all, it is purely based on your interest. However, if you are not very sure what your interests are, you should choose a specialization which is in demand.

As you have mentioned 700 rank then it depends which IIt you want to take except IITB and IIT Kanpur as these two are in high demand for electrical.

Coming to the current trends, almost all the available specialization like Power Electronics, Control System, Power System and Signal Processing are well in use.

But you can get any specilization in IIT R, G, kgp (50-50) IITD- (30-70).
