For CBSE PCMB students, several concepts from Class 11 are essential because Class 12 builds directly upon them in all four subjects. It's not just about continuity—it’s about depth. Without a good grasp of certain Class 11 topics, understanding Class 12 chapters can become unnecessarily difficult.

In Physics, the entire mechanics portion from Class 11—motion, Newton’s laws, work-energy-power, rotational dynamics, and gravitation—forms the conceptual base for electromagnetism and modern physics in Class 12. Problem-solving approaches, especially involving vectors and calculus-based reasoning, are carried forward.

In Chemistry, Class 11 physical chemistry topics such as mole concept, atomic structure, thermodynamics, chemical bonding, and equilibrium are critical for advanced areas like electrochemistry, chemical kinetics, and coordination compounds in Class 12. Organic chemistry in Class 12 also builds on basic reaction mechanisms introduced in Class 11.

If you are heading towards class 12th and are a student of PCMB (physics, chemistry, math, and biology). You must carry core concepts and basics that you have learned in 11th grade. You can revise the concepts, which will boost your confidence. For physics: kinematics, laws of motion, energy, SHM, and thermodynamics. Chemistry: mole concept, bonding, thermo, organic basics. Math: trigonometry, functions, limits, series, and and P&C; and biology: cells, biomolecules, and human/plant physiology. These are main topics which you need to focus on.
