It depends from college to college, some  conduct entrance exams and other give admission on merit basis. List of private college and their admission process are-

• Parul University,  Vadodara- Merit Basis or entrance exam conducted by Institute
• Ahilya Bai College of Nursing, Delhi- Based in entrance exam
• ECR Group of Institutions- Based on merit
• Himalayan University- Based on merit

There are even some private colleges in which you can directly do B.Sc Nursing course. The entrance exam is conducted mainly for admission into various government and semi- government institutions .
Various states organise an entrance exam and upon the marks scored in those entrance exams , you can get admission into various government/ semigovt. Institutions.
Some of the B.Sc nursing exams are as follows:
HPU B.sc Nursing
PGIMER B.Sc Nursing
AIIMS B.Sc nursing
BHU CET Exam
AFMC B.Sc Nursing
There are also many other entrance exams by which you can get admission into this course.
In private institution, you can even go for direct admissions after obtaining 50% in class 12 examination and they will select you on merit basis whereas govt. Institutions requires entrance exam .
You should also opt for govt. institutions for good placement and salary as well.
