Gas is transferred from P₁, V₁, T₁ to P₂, V₂, T₂ during the isothermal expansion carnot cycle process. At temperature T₁, heat Q₁ is absorbed from the reservoir. The overall change in internal energy is zero, and the amount of heat absorbed by the gas equals the amount of work done.
