The biggest advantage of this field is the enormous potential to grow for the good candidates. The field of scientific researches is growing every day fuelled by the desire of human beings to develop solutions to the old and newer problem. So, if you possess a combination of right skills, the scope for you to grow in the field of biotechnology is huge. 

The disadvantage of this field is the limited number of companies employing biotechnologist as compared to the huge number of IT companies ready to absorb the computer science pass outs. So, you will have to really work hard to crack the interviews and tests to prove your worth. Also, the number of seats in biotechnology courses of various colleges are limited as compared to other traditional streams.

Bsc biotechnology has its own pros and cons. After b.sc biotechnology, you can go for m.sc. if you're keen to being your career in research then go for PhD.  Otherwise, after completing your undergraduate degree, you can do B.Ed and do teaching jobs in school. For jobs in colleges, you need to write Net exam.
