To become a doctor in Philippines, a student first has to do schooling till class 10, then do the BS course which is a degree course and then can pursue MD directly. That is the education system of Philippines. 

For Indian students, since they've already done their 10+2, some additional credits are given because of the +2, and the remaining ones he has to get during the 3 semesters of the BS course, but the BS course is a compulsion.
