These both are undergraduate courses, both courses focus on eye treatment but they differ in some respect. Optometry course mainly focus on treatung eye vision, correction/choosing  eye lense etc. And ophthalmologist is a specialized eye doctor who is trained for curing eye disease, correct vision, plastic surgery or can do research on any eye disease.
