CIWG quota stands for Children of Indian Workers in Gulf countries quota. It's a reservation quota for admission to undergraduate programs in engineering, architecture, and planning in various institutions, including NITs and IIITs.¹

To get admission under the CIWG quota, you'll need to meet the eligibility criteria, which typically includes:

- Citizenship: Being an Indian citizen

- Parent's occupation: Having parents working in Gulf countries

- Qualifying exam: Passing the qualifying exam, usually with a minimum percentage

The admission process typically involves:

1. Registration: Filling out the application form on the official website

2. Merit-based selection: Selection based on merit, considering factors like qualifying exam scores and other criteria

3. Document verification: Verification of documents, including proof of parents' occupation in Gulf countries

Some participating institutions under the CIWG quota include National Institute of Technology, Tiruchirappalli, National Institute of Technology, Calicut, and Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology Allahabad, among others.

Hi,

The Children of Indian Workers in Gulf Countries (CIWD) quota serves as a special enrollment category at Indian technical and professional colleges for students with Gulf-employed parents. The quota function is specifically active in NITs and IIITs and various administrative-funded establishments which participate in the DASA (Direct Admission of Students Abroad) admission process.

How to Get Admission Under CIWD Quota

  • 1. Eligibility Criteria :Indian workers in Gulf countries must have children eligible to register for this admission slot.Students who have attained Class 12 education alongside Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics are eligible for enrollment.A student must take JEE Main as the admission requirement for NITs as well as IIITs and other CFTIs.
  • 2. Application Process: Follow the application guidance available on DASA (Direct Admission of Students Abroad) through its official website. You need to complete the following steps in the application process: register first, followed by personal and academic field entry and document uploading.you need to submit a nonrefundable USD payment as registration costs. You need to take part in the scheduled seat allotment events.
  • 3. Documents Required :The application requires a passport that belongs to a parent who works in a Gulf country.Proof of employment of the parent (such as an employment certificate). Your Class 10 and 12 mark sheets.JEE Main scorecard.Students must submit certain additional documents which DASA has specified.
  • 4. Seat Allotment and Admission :  You are granted seats according to their JEE Main examination results. After seat allotment, students need to confirm their option and follow the admission procedure at their assigned educational institution.

I hope this helps.
