Now, note that VIT is one among the premier colleges in Tamilnadu. They have two campuses: one at Vellore and the other at Chennai.

Being from Chennai, I would like to give you this advice: Please don't choose VIT Chennai.

The best VIT institute is in Vellore. Now, one of my friends who is also studying B.Tech (ME) in VIT, Vellore had a rank of around 1000. But, it is generally not necessary to get such a high rank.
