As per UGC/BCI mandate, a BA LLB honours course will be required to study atleast 8 more papers (36 law papers) than a general BA LLB degree (28 law papers). See, http://www.barcouncilofindia.org...

While, this will always give you a broader fundamental understandings of 8 more areas of law, but considering the practicalities, after few years of practice, say 3–4 years, neither the employer nor the clients will give emphasis on a general honours degree.
