CSE and CST both are the branches of engineering. CSE stands for Computer Science Engineering whereas CST stands for Computer Science and Technology. There is not much difference in the syllabus but yes if you are interested in study of software as well as hardware then you should go with CSE but if you are interested in study of software only then CST would be a better option.

If we talk about their scope in government job so as of now there is not much scope of CSE/CST in government sectors but yes vacancies are created whenever required, so if you go either with CSE or CST you will be eligible to apply for government jobs.
