Hello Aspirant,

Environmental ethics is important as human should serve nature now. In current age, every natural resources is polluted causing natural disasters. Humans became lazy using advanced technology and using up resources as much as they needed. To avoid future disasters, now we humans need to be more alert and work to save it. Plantation is the key factor as forest and greenry is depleting.

If we start giving value to environment as our home then it will also give so many natural condition. Nature maintains homeostasis which is supported by its elements. If we take away and pollute it then equilibrium will break and disasters happen.

Hello Aspirant,

Its very important because the point of environmental science is to study and understand the environment around us. Studying environmental science or studies, you'll come to the understanding of how important the environment and all that live within it are to us as humans. Many people are under the assumption that if you aren't directly connected to something than it has little or no effect on them this is not true. For example, littering plastic has tons of effects that people dont know about other than just killin wildlife. Plastic takes hundreds of years to break down completely but it does get brittle and break down into smaller microscopic pieces. These plastic particles absorb toxins (ex. carcinogens - cancer causing agents) and when eaten by fish, these toxins will bioaccumulate (the concentration of toxins gets higher and higher within each step of the food chain) through the food chain. At the top of the food chain, we are eating an extremely high concentration of toxins each time we eat fish and most of us dont even realise. Environmental ethics is basically the obligation of us to protect the environment in order to maintain the health of the planet and ourselves in the process. In order to be a quality environmental scientist you must conduct yourself and your work with these ethics in mind.
