Some institutes from this year have started taking the mess fees in advance as 'co operative mess advance' to make sure that they get paid even if the mess services remain suspended due to the pandemic. This is done as a preventive step as most universities have contracts with different mess service providers for certain terms. If the fees of the mess is not paid due to the pandemic continuation not only the university suffers but the mess workers suffer too hence "co operative mess advance" has been inroduced as a preventive step.
