Firstly congratulations on qualifying jee advanced.
Ok, so now you are going to fill your choices in the JoSAA for your seat in IIT. In that for eg you get your 3rd choice in the first round cutoff. Now you have 2 options
You can freeze your choice i.e you want to pursue that 3rd option and you will have that seat after the registration fees is submitted.
You can allow to float i.e you want your 1st choice so as the rounds progresses the cutoffs will get to your rank and you will be allotted that choice
Note:- if you have got your 1st choice in any round then you can't get the lower choices, so fill your choices very calmly and judiciously.
