The official board has not mentioned anything related to domain wise cutoff for PHD Program.  Generally, Try to score 80% of total marks such that you will be in the safe area and getting an admission will be easy. if you satisfy all the criteria then you will get an admission for sure.

You need to give the GATE exam and you need to score high in the GATE exam some 550/600+ marks to get into IITS for material science and engineering. Also your pointers in btech will matter along with your gate score. You need to have a minimum of 7.5 CGPA.
