The marksheet and pass certificate are two different thing..

Marksheet is the document you get from the board in which your marks, grades, performance etc are written. It declares if you have passed or failed 

A Pass Certificate is a document issued by board  which states that you've cleared all your subjects and scored passing marks and now you are eligible to enroll in other institutions for degree courses
