After the online counselling and payment of the fees you are taken as the provisional admission.  After the official verification of the documents offline, you will be subjected to be a permanent student of that college.

As everything you filled about yourself and the upload can be manipulated or have some errors thats why college make the term provisional admission before the offline verificafion of the documents at the college campus which happen to occur usually in a date given by the college or during the first day of the college.

In the offline verification procedure they will just match all the details you availed in the application form & if all the information matches with the original documents your admission will be confirmed and you will be the permanent student of the college and the provisional admission status will be removed.

Hello. Provisional admission letter consists of details that the student has been admitted or given a seat in foundation . But there are some additional details or documents required to satisfy or check the eligibility thoroughly.

So if you have got the provisional admission letter,  there must have been written some additional notes , check them and provide those documents as early as possible to get the unconditional offer letter, I.e., confirmed seat.
