what is role of ABA in closing of stomata and why is it called stress hormone?

Hello!!

under water stress ABA is produced in the chloroplast it was observed by milburrow,ABA promotes the loss of potassium from guard cell,hence it cause the closing of stomata,if the condition persists ABA causes senescence and abscission of leaf,since ABA protects the plant from the stressful condition hence it is also known as stress hormone.
