The average starting salary in this career option varies from INR 4 lakh to 24 lakhs per annum.

Most of the MD PSM doctors work in association with medical colleges, but there are several other areas also that you can consider:

1. WHO, UNICEF, CARE and similar international agencies
2. State government as an Epidemiologist under various national health programs
3. Own clinic/nursing home
4. Pharmaceutical companies as an Epidemiologist or a 5. Clinical trials consultant
6. Opening an NGO later in life is also a good option, as you know in and out of various health programs.
7. Work at an administrative post in Hospitals
