Dear aspirant!!! I would like to inform you that for SRM University you only have to write " SRMIST,payable at Chennai" and that's it, I guess the bank people aren't aware of this for which they're telling this. You can refer to the University website http://www.srmuniv.ac.in/admission-india/content/how-apply for more details.
