Hello Deepa,

The criteria to be eligible for admission in B.A. Economics honours are:

  • At least 45% of marks at the end of your schooling examination and passing marks in all your subjects.
  • Mathematics (and not Business Mathematics) should be one of your subjects in intermediate. For Cambridge A level students, further Mathematics is required.
  • Studying Economics as one of your subjects in intermediate is not an eligibility criterion.

For pursuing economics, mathematical ability and analytical skills are required, so if you have these skills, then you should go for Economics (Hons.). If a student is good at arts but not good at Maths then economics would not be a good choice for them because of a great deal of mathematics will be required in economics.

Hope this will help!

Thank you and all the best.
